What is involved in becoming a garden volunteer?
As a garden volunteer, we ask for a weekly commitment to supporting the Garden project. You will also be asked to lead a small group of helpers, outlining the work that is to be carried out during that session and helping individuals when needed.
Do I need any experience to become a garden volunteer?
Some knowledge of gardening is preferred, but not essential.
How do I become a garden volunteer?
We encourage you to come along to one of our sessions and chat to our Garden Team Leader to experience what the MindSpace Garden has to offer within the local community.
Please contact us if you are interested in supporting the garden project so that we can arrange for you to join one of the garden sessions.
Following your introduction to the MindSpace Garden, the next step is to complete an application form and provide 2 references, which can either be professional references or from people you know.
Once your application has been processed and the session you are supporting agreed, you will undertake an induction.
I want to help but am unable to commit to supporting on a weekly basis
We’re always on the lookout for people to come and help our team of garden volunteers. If you are keen to help, but unable to commit on a weekly basis, you are welcome to come along to any of our gardening sessions. You can book in here.
We occasionally have some big projects to work on in the Wellbeing Garden, and these are done outside of our usual sessions. If you are interested in supporting these sessions, please complete the Garden Helpers Form and we will contact you when we have our next work party coming up.
