MindSpace opens its doors to new Wellbeing Hub

14 October 2025

MindSpace is excited to start a brand new chapter after opening the doors to our new Wellbeing Hub.

As a charity, we have spent the last month renovating the premises, which was formerly a hairdressing salon, after relocating from our previous hub on Broad Street.

We now have a new, larger and more flexible space, which will increase our capacity to support and listen to the local community through our activities, one to one meetings and group sessions.

The listening room

MindSpace’s Operations Manager Pip Tiffin says, ‘We are immensely pleased with this new space and how it will be able to support our community. It wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the volunteers and businesses who have kindly donated time, skills, expertise and equipment to help us get the space ready and open again for our participants. There is still work to be done and a few items we need to get. Our next phase is adding these finishing touches and if anybody wishes to support us, we have a Wish List of items that include cushions and plants that people can buy or donate money for.’

A huge thank you

We want to acknowledge the many local businesses and individuals who have helped and supported us getting the new premises ready.

Before any work could begin, we had the brilliant Alan and Trev who came and removed some old sinks and pipework for us.

The team from Cummins volunteered several hours, coming in to help us at the start, preparing the walls, sanding and painting. It was great to have so many hands helping out with the first big jobs.

We are very grateful to LLB Decorating for donating paint – we needed a lot!

Screwfix in Stamford offered invaluable advice when we needed to stock up on supplies! Thank you for your patience.

The team from Cummins helping out in the first days.

We had several of our volunteers come along to help us, not just with decorating, but emptying our old premises and carrying furniture and items into the new space. It involved a lot of journeys and a lot of stairs but we got it all done!

Colourbank in Stamford kindly donated new flooring and carpets, which has transformed the space. The team who came to fit them were incredibly friendly and professional.

Shaun Sutton lent his carpentry skills, helping us out with much-needed storage and thanks goes to Jon Gibson at Hereward Homes who helped with architects drawings and building regulations.

We are so grateful to Mark Johnstone of Sonic Security who has installed all our alarm system and security within the hub. He has done an amazing job. Mark has been on hand throughout the move and been an incredible support.

Ian Powell and Pip Tiffin getting stuck in!

We also had FSE help us with all our fire safety and lovely new signage outside the front of the building from Stuart at Frank Newbon.

We have to give a huge thanks to Ian Powell who project managed the move and renovations and helped us sort out all the electrical work and rewiring that needed doing – and to Andrew Wade who helped him. Ian got the honour of cutting the ribbon for us when we opened!

Come and visit us at the new premises. There is still work to do and a few finishing touches to be made but we are open and ready to welcome you. All our activities will be continuing as normal and we look forward to welcoming you into the space!
