MindSpace awarded full charitable status
The Charity Commission for England and Wales has approved MindSpace Stamford’s application to become a registered charity. The decision recognises that all the work of this local mental health charity is of benefit to the public and meets the rigorous expectations of the Charity Commission.
Chair of MindSpace Stamford, Helen Howe said “I am delighted to announce that the Charity Commission has approved MindSpace Stamford, the only mental health organisation in the local area, as a registered charity, this will allow us to form further partnerships with local businesses and other organisations. Trustees would like to thank individual donors, supporters and partners who have been pivotal in our achievements to date”.
Dr Dan Petrie, Founder and trustee of MindSpace Stamford added “it is especially important that the work of MindSpace Stamford and its growing number of volunteers, who have been doing excellent work since 2015 when the community group was formed, is now being recognised as beneficial to individuals and the wider community”.
“We increasingly have scientific research to back up that face to face interactions are important to our wellbeing and physical health. MindSpace is creating a culture of improved communication between all of us and encouraging involvement in sociable activities that will allow all to flourish” said Dr Petrie.
MindSpace currently provides walks, cafés, yoga, boxing, art therapy, cinema and more; aiming to create a week round offer of activities which enable everyone to flourish.
