Grateful thanks to all those who supported us in the Santa Fun Run
HUGE thanks to everyone who ran in the Stamford Santa Fun Run last weekend, helping to raise much needed funds for the charity.
With a full turn-out of 1,500 runners, the event at Burghley Park was a huge success and had a fabulous atmosphere. GP Dr Dan Petrie, founder of MindSpace Stamford, took part with his young family to raise funds for the charity with an appeal dedicated to his wife Cassie, who suffers with depression. He says: “I was delighted with the amazing turnout at Sunday’s Santa Fun Run. The children were very excited to be taking part.”
Dan adds: “It was very heartening to see so much support for MindSpace within our community. With participants’ help we have raised much needed funds for MindSpace to continue to offer a safe space to all in times of need, and to continue our programme of activities that reflect the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, which is at the core of what we do.”
At the time of writing, 95 people have contributed to Dan’s Go Fund Me appeal which stands at £2,475, a little less than half of the target of £5,000. It’s hoped to have official confirmation of the total funds raised by Trustees, Members and supporters in the coming weeks. Dan says: “MindSpace is extremely grateful to Stamford Striders and The Rotary Club of Stamford Burghley for organising the event and choosing MindSpace as one of its official charities.”
