Celebrating two years of our town centre hub by inviting community feedback
This week (Monday 21 February – Friday 25 February) Mindspace is inviting local individuals and organisations to join in a celebration marking the second anniversary of its community hub in Broad Street Stamford.
Since opening the premises in February 2020, MindSpace has offered a safe place for people to be accepted and listened to, continuing to offer a variety of services aimed at improving mental wellbeing throughout the restrictions imposed as a result of the pandemic.
Dr Dan Petrie, MindSpace founder and vice chair says: “We have supported people at drop-in tea & chat sessions and provided opportunities for people to connect through mindful and creative activities such as a Makers Group, and active sessions with our walking groups, boxing, yoga and running sessions.”
On Friday February 25 MindSpace is staging a community consultation session at Stamford Town Hall, starting at 11am. “We’re inviting people to come along and learn about how MindSpace Stamford is aiming to create a community that encourages individuals to look after themselves and one another, prioritising mental wellbeing,” says Dr Petrie. “We would also like to hear from local residents about how they feel about living and working in Stamford.”
Drop in & Connect Sessions
Our team is also inviting interested parties to find out more about our plans for the future by visiting the charity’s busy hub at 39 Broad Street, Stamford. In the week beginning Monday February 21 we are holding Drop In & Connect sessions, welcoming people to meet members of the team and discover more about the charity’s work and its goals for the community as a whole. These sessions will run from 3 to 5pm on the afternoons of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Everyone who attends the Town Hall event and who visits MindSpace to attend a Drop in & Connect session will be invited to have their name entered into a free prize draw to win a delicious afternoon tea for two in a Stamford café.
Dr Petrie says: “For those who unable to visit us we extend an invitation to please visit the MindSpace website and discover more about our work. We welcome everyone’s thoughts on what more we can do to support mental health and wellbeing in this community by completing our feedback form at https://mindspacestamford.com/contact.”
