A day at the seaside
A day at the seaside
Following the successful lottery Community Fund received by MindSpace Stamford, a fun and pleasant outing was enjoyed by 11 MindSpace members at Hunstanton. The members enjoyed a walk on the beach, arcade games and an ice cream treat from MindSpace Stamford.
Councillor Robert Foulkes of Lincolnshire volunteered to drive the Christchurch minibus which transported the members to the seaside and said “ It was a joy to take such a delightful group of MindSpace members to ‘sunny honey’, we all had a really good day out and lots of laughs. The ice cream was delicious too! I would recommend anyone who has some spare time to consider volunteering for the charity, especially as a driver, as the more volunteers they have the more trips they can provide”.
Helen Howe, Chair of Trustees said “We would like to thank Councillor Rob Foulkes for his support the MindSpace out-of-town walks. We are aware that due to his position within the council he has many public duties to fulfil and yet has still found the time to support us. However, in order to continue this activity and support more members to access out of town walks, we do need more volunteer drivers and would welcome anyone who is interested to get in contact with us. ”
One member who attended the day trip said “It’s lovely to be beside the sea, it makes me feel ‘free’ and makes nice change to be in a different place in good company and have such a great laugh. I’m looking forward to the next trip already, thank you MindSpace”.
