Marketing & Communications Co-ordinator

Location: MindSpace Hub, 39 Broad Street, Stamford 

Hours: 21 hours per week  

To be worked flexibly, some evening & weekends required to support promotional events 

Salary: £16,500 pro-rata (£27,500 fte) 

About MindSpace: MindSpace Stamford is a community wellbeing hub where everyone is welcome to come and take part in activities and training that promote positive wellbeing. MindSpace have a premises at 39 Broad Street in Stamford, as well as a Community Wellbeing Garden.  

Job Purpose: To co-ordinate, publish and promote the work of MindSpace, working with key stake-holders to ensure the broadest possible reach and positive impact of the charity’s work 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Content planning: working with colleagues and trustees, devise a rolling programme of content and messaging to be shared across platforms that reflects the varied activities and impacts of MindSpace 
  • Content creation: be the point of contact for making all content, whether for press releases, interviews, social media or other media as required (and agreed by the People and Operations Lead) 
  • Charity messaging: ensure the core values and messages of Mindspace are delivered through innovative and exciting content, aiming to stimulate and activate local users and future supporters 
  • PR and third party contacts: point of contact for all press enquiries, working with local and national journalists for the proactive messaging about Mindspace 
  • Social media content: full responsibility for devising, creating and delivering all content for Mindspace’s social media platforms (Facebook and Instagram) 
  • Responsible content: ensure all content published or promoted comes within the MindSpace values and legal framework, always respecting the users of the service and their needs and privacy 
  • Charity coordination: with colleagues across the charity, deliver a range of content that thanks our supporters and recognises the value third parties bring to our work 
  • Website: basic maintenance and updating of the MindSpace website using WordPress 
  • Managing comments and contact: be the point of contact for managing comments and feedback via social media and press enquiries, always keeping colleagues aware of what is being said or suggested 
  • Resource coordination: ensure an easy-to-follow system for storing content – both published and unpublished – within the secure network of Mindscape, so colleagues and trustees can easily access material as needed 
  • Ad hoc projects: undertake one-off projects (such as partnership promotional material, marketing, fundraising requests, community activity sheets etc) as requested by the People and Operations Lead and key trustees 

Skills and Abilities (Essential): 

  • Experience in use of social media (Facebook & Instagram) 
  • Appreciation of social media algorithms  
  • Experience in use of platforms such as Canva, Publr, MailChimp, WordPress 
  • Ability to communicate in an empathetic and sensitive manner 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Computer literate with a strong working knowledge of Office 365 applications (Word, Outlook and Excel) 
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Confident, self-motivated, innovative, and able to work under pressure 
  • Able to work collaboratively 
  • Able to work flexible hours when required 
  • Able to adapt and learn new skills where required 
  • An interest in community building and promoting positive well-being.

This role will have a strong empathy to our values and ethos; they will be self-reliant, energetic, and able to work on their own initiative and to prioritise activities.

  • Consent to an enhanced DBS disclosure. 
  • Relevant training opportunities will be offered, and the expectation will be that the post-holder attend both internal and external training as required.
